چکیده

The reduction of the charge of the species in molten salts, including the complete removal of the Coulomb interaction, appears to have the same eFect as an increase in the pressure on these systems. This observation leads to the prediction that a continuous pressure-induced structural change is to be found in the noble-metal halide melts at much lower pressures than those used to induce a similar transition in the alkali halide melts.

Pressure-Induced Structural Evolution and Band Gap Shifts of Organometal Halide Perovskite-Based Methylammonium Lead Chloride.

Organometal halide perovskites are promising materials for optoelectronic devices. Further development of these devices requires a deep understanding of their fundamental structure-property relationships. The effect of pressure on the structural evolution and band gap shifts of methylammonium lead chloride (MAPbCl3) was investigated systematically. Synchrotron X-ray diffraction and Raman experi...

The origin of the conductivity maximum in molten salts. II. SnCl2 and HgBr2.

The phenomenon of electrical conductivity maxima of molten salts versus temperature during orthobaric (closed-vessel) conditions is further examined via ab initio simulations. Previously, in a study of molten BiCl3, a new theory was offered in which the conductivity falloff at high temperatures is due not to traditional ion association, but to a rise in the activation energy for atomic ions hop...

Reactive gas environment induced structural modification of noble-transition metal alloy nanoparticles.

Noble-transition metal (noble=Pt,Au; transition=Co,Ni,Cu) alloy particles with sizes of about 5 nm have been studied by in situ high-energy x-ray diffraction while subjected to oxidizing (O(2)) and reducing (H(2)) gas atmospheres at elevated temperatures. The different gas atmospheres do not affect substantially the random alloy, face-centered-cubic structure type of the particles but do affect...

“Study of stable gallium oxide heavey metal Ga2O3-Bi2O3-PbO system glasses proposed as a base for optically noble glazes and enamels”

Ultra optical glasses are proposed for attaining noble glazes of high reflection and shine. In addition, these glasses can be used as semi-mirrors and optical instruments. In this reseach attempts were devoted mainly to introduce a glass system with the highest possible refractive index in which the highest reflection is desirable. Thus different amounts of heavy metal oxides modifiers, such as...

Pressure-induced insulator-metal transition in a bilayer manganite: Pressure control of orbital stability

Pressure effects on transport as well as structural properties have been investigated for a bilayer manganite, La222xSr112xMn2O7 (x50.48), near the phase boundary between the ferromagnetic metallic and the A-type antiferromagnetic states. An insulator-metal ~IM! transition is found to be induced by applying pressure of ;0.7 GPa. On the basis of the synchrotron radiation x-ray structural analysi...
